Financial Center Opens New Branch at Major General Emmett J. Bean Federal Center

Indianapolis, IN – Financial Center is proud to announce the opening of its new branch today at the Major General Emmett J. Bean Federal Center, marking a return to the credit union’s military roots more than 70 years after being founded at nearby Fort Benjamin Harrison.

The new location replaces Financial Center’s previous branch inside the federal center, which closed during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. The new branch has been relocated and completely rebuilt, designed specifically to serve employees within the building, where the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) serves as the primary tenant. Approximately 2,500 people work in the facility daily.

The project, which began construction in March of 2026, represents a $260,000 investment and was completed in partnership with Artisan Construction, C-Cat Inc., Alliance Safe, Office 360, QSI, and V&J Consulting.

“Opening this new branch is an exciting full-circle moment for Financial Center,” said Ning Duong, President & CEO of Financial Center. “We were founded more than 70 years ago at Fort Benjamin Harrison, and this new location allows us to reconnect with those roots while delivering a modern banking experience built for today’s members.”

Rather than requiring employees to leave work to manage their finances, Financial Center is bringing convenient banking, financial coaching, and appointment access directly into their workplace. The new branch features an Interactive Teller Machine (ITM) that allows members to make deposits, cash checks, complete transactions, and connect with a live video teller during business hours. Traditional ATM services are also available 24/7.

Employees within the building can also schedule financial coaching and account appointments with Branch Manager Tammy Bible, along with investment and retirement planning meetings with Financial Advisor Matt Tielker and Investment Coordinator Emily Flores.

To celebrate the opening, Financial Center is launching a series of grand opening activations, giveaways, and special promotions beginning today and continuing throughout the summer for employees working within the federal center.
