Community Impact

Building healthier financial lives is just the start of our story.

The best investments don't always earn interest.

Sometimes those investments feed a hungry family or help a student discover what's possible. Other times, they're the result of a conversation that ends with an "aha!" after sitting down with a financial coach.

Those are the kinds of returns Financial Center has been investing in for more than 70 years. We pour our time, resources, and expertise into the people who choose to bank with us – and the people in our backyard who just need a little support. Together, our almost 200 employees and over 50,000 members continue investing in stronger communities across Indiana every single day.

Our Impact

  • $350,000+
Raised per year for local causes
  • 25,000+
People reached through community outreach each year
  • 350+
Community events attended or hosted each year
  • 1,440+
Paid community service hours given to employees annually

Doing good, on purpose.

There are countless causes worth supporting. Our three pillars of community involvement help keep our time, resources, partnerships, and volunteer efforts focused on work that connects directly to who we are and where we came from.

No one should have to wonder where their next meal is coming from. That's why we partner with organizations across Indiana helping families put food on the table.

A few of our efforts include:

  • Sponsoring Pack the Pantries for 15+ years alongside FOX59 and CBS4
  • Partnering with the Mozel Sanders Foundation, providing meals and scholarships
  • Collecting food and monetary donations at every Financial Center branch
  • Supporting Gleaners and Midwest Food Bank through donations and employee volunteerism

We were founded at Fort Benjamin Harrison in 1953, and that history continues to shape who we are today. Supporting military members, veterans, and their families is part of our credit union’s identity.

A few of our efforts include:

  • Partnering with the Indiana Military Veterans Hall of Fame
  • Teaching educational classes to veteran support groups in Muncie and Kokomo, Indiana

Financial wellness speaks every language.

Everyone deserves to feel understood. At Financial Center, we invest in multilingual education through events and workshops. Our team additionally partners with international consulates and community organizations across Indiana to help bilingual and immigrant communities access trusted banking service.
