Financial Center Offers Free Financial Counseling and Seminars
as a Part of Indiana’s Money Smart Week

Indianapolis, Ind. – Financial Center First Credit Union and other financial institutions around the state are teaming up to share financial education classes as a part of Indiana’s Money Smart Week, April 23-30. Classes are free, open to all ages, and cover a variety of money management topics.

Financial Center’s Money Smart Week Schedule:

  • One-on-one financial counseling with a Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC) at any Financial Center location. These one-hour sessions help guests understand credit, develop a savings plan, prepare for financial milestones, and reinforce healthy money management habits. Schedule an appointment by calling James Davidson at 317.916.6255 Learn more about Financial Center’s counseling program at fcfcu.com/financial-counselors.
  • Basic Budgeting Seminar, Saturday, April 23rd, 10:30-Noon, 7101 E. 56th Street, Indianapolis. Register online at aprilbudgeting101.eventbrite.com.

Financial Center’s education outreach stretches far beyond Money Smart Week. The not-for-profit credit union employs two full-time people dedicated to providing free financial workshops year-round to members, business members’ employees, and other community organizations. Financial Center has been nationally recognized by the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) for the past two years for its financial education programs.

“Managing money is a challenging task that everyone faces – no matter how much or how little you have,” said James Davidson, Financial Center’s Financial Literacy Program Manager. “As a credit union, we believe it’s our responsibility to provide information, tools and advice to help people make the best financial decisions possible.”

Money Smart Week is the broadest and most comprehensive public awareness financial education program in the country. Started in 2002 in Chicago with just 40 programs, it has expanded significantly to become the only national educational program for people at all stages of life.
