Last year, it ranked no. 14 in the small size company category. Financial Center was the only credit union to receive a ‘Top Workplace’ designation this year. The Credit Union celebrated its 60th year in business in 2013, which culminated in a merger with Horizon One Federal Credit Union.

Over the past five years, Financial Center has been working to improve employee benefits and programs that help create a work/family balance, an open door policy that facilitates idea sharing, and opportunities for professional growth.

“Our organization is blessed to have great depth of competent staff focused on serving our membership. Being recognized as a Top Workplace is a testament to the culture we enjoy at the Credit Union,” said J. Kevin Ryan, Financial Center President and CEO. “And recognition at this level helps us achieve our goal of retaining quality employees who are focused on helping our members improve their financial lives.”

Ryan also received a special leadership award for a standout score on the survey stating that employees had confidence in the leadership of their company. He was the only recipient of the award in the midsize company category.
