Keep your Information Safe

by Hostetler, Michael

Keeping your confidential personal and account information safe is a priority for our Credit Union. Media reports this week have discussed the recent email breach from Epsilon where thousands of email addresses were stolen from the company. If you were a victim of this breach, we want to remind you of ways to protect your confidential information.

1. Use caution in selecting your PIN number and passwords.

2. Be cautious about revealing account numbers, Social Security or Tax ID numbers, and other private information to other persons.

3. Never give out account information through the mail or via an email solicitation unless you have initiated the contact. Avoid filling out forms in email messages that ask for personal financial information. Only communicate information such as credit card numbers or account information via a secure website or the telephone.
