How We Do Things

by Hostetler, Michael

The definition of culture is the shared beliefs and values of a group: the beliefs, customs, practices, and social behavior of a particular nation or people. Or, as we like to say, how we do things around here.

Financial Center's corporate culture is the result of strong "high-intent" relationships, a solid base of common values and overall shared vision of why we do the work we do the way we do it.

We believe it is important to reward good employees with excellent benefits and encourage a culture of wellness; physical and financial wellness, career well-being, and a healthy work-life balance. All employees, part-time and full-time, whether you've been with us for six months or six years, have access to a variety of programs.

Annual Health Screening and Health Improvement Program - Comprehensive program that combines the latest science in disease prevention, nutrition, exercise physiology with cutting-edge proprietary technology to deliver significant improvements in employee health.

Walking Teams - Credit Union-subsidized team participates in local charitable walks.

Wellness Bucks -  Reimbursement for expenses related to physical, financial, career, and work-life balance well-being. Examples of reimbursable expenses are gym memberships, fitness equipment, professional clothing match, financial planning services such as will preparation, massages, manicures, and professional services such as house cleaning.

Leadership Culture - Leaders play a key role in defining and shaping any corporate culture. Financial Center leaders come in all shapes and sizes; all job descriptions and tenures. Leaders can be found on the teller line, in the call center, in centralized lending...as well as in the boardroom.

We value the traits of servant leadership - Listening, Empathy, Healing, Awareness, Persuasion, Conceptualization, Foresight, Stewardship, Commitment to the Growth of People and Building Community.

Our Leadership Philosophy, attributes that describe a Financial Center Leader, also includes words and phrases like Leading by Example, Accountable, Innovative, Visionary, Empowering, and Fun!
