Call for Applications for Director Vacancies
Applications are being accepted for upcoming Director openings on the nine-member Board. Positions are filled in accordance with the bylaws of the Credit Union. In April 2012, three 3-year terms will expire. The three Board vacancies are open to any interested current member of the Credit Union who is in good standing and is the age of 18 or older. If you are interested in serving as a volunteer on the Board, you may apply by submitting (i) a cover letter and (ii) a personal resume. The cover letter must include a brief statement of your qualifications using each of the criteria listed below and a signed statement agreeing to undergo a background and credit check.
All eligible applicants will be considered by the Nominating Committee, and successful applicants will be recommended to fill the vacancies based on the following criteria:
- Management experience
- Financial operations experience which may include finance, accounting, audit, budgeting, lending, investments, regulatory compliance
- Information technology experience
- Marketing experience
- Prior service with a volunteer organization
- Written and oral communication skills.
Also, personal interviews may be conducted by the Nominating Committee.
Board members are expected to attend from one to three monthly meetings which are usually held at our Main Center on East 56th Street in Indianapolis. Additionally, new Board members will be enrolled in, and are expected to complete, a Credit Union sponsored educational correspondence course to gain an understanding of credit union operations and board member responsibilities.
