Indiana is planning to use stimulus funds to hire up to 2,000 young adults to help improve the state's parks, trails, and natural habitats according to the Indianapolis Star.
Need a Summer Job?
The program is titled Young Hoosiers Conservation Corps and opportunities exist for people ages 16 to 24. The jobs will pay $8.50 an hour. You must be 24 years old or younger to apply and your family income must be at or below the poverty level ($23,000 for a family of four).
This is a great way to get the youth involved in helping the Indianapolis community. Our credit union works with the youth as well in our three student Centers to help our youth make stronger choices when it comes to personal finance. We hope to better our community in this respect along the same lines as the Young Hoosiers Conservation Corps.
